looking for name of old book

I read a book in the 70's about a spaceship landing on a planet that was
Greek culture-ish, and was a homosexual society. since the spaceship had
female passengers, this led to some interesting conflicts.

I was too young at the time to understand everything in the book, but would
like to reread it now.

any hints or ideas on the title would be great.
